iPhone Support Added to Popular Ham Radio Control Apps

Sending SSTV pictures around the world and operating modern digital modes is now possible directly from an iPhone. Full iPhone support is now available for the three control apps FT-Control, TS-Control, and K4-Control, extending functionality that was previously limited to iPad devices.

The apps are designed for radios from Yaesu, Kenwood, and Elecraft respectively. Each app is specific to its supported radio brand.

A single purchase of an app covers both iPad and iPhone usage. There is no need to buy an additional version for a different device: an app purchased for iPad can also be installed and used on iPhone, and vice versa.

Most features available on iPad are also supported on iPhone. These include the FT8/FT4 tool, CW decoder, APRS, integrated logbook, and many additional operating functions. With an iPhone, operation is possible in SSB, FT8, and CW, as well as sending and receiving SSTV images.

CW operation can be done using the standard iPhone keyboard or a specialized integrated CW keyboard that avoids switching between letters and numbers. For traditional keying, a physical paddle can also be connected using Lynn’s fantastic CTR2 Controller.

Radio operation is supported both locally via home Wi-Fi and remotely over the Internet, allowing full station access from virtually anywhere.
