The Common-Radio™ Audio Driver enables seamless integration between HAM radio applications — including SmartSDR, SDR-Control, FT-Control, TS-Control, and K4-Control — and external tools such as WSJT-X and fldigi or other third party software. Unlike the loopback drivers previously required for this purpose, Common-Radio™ Audio Driver is purpose-built for these applications, optimized for ultra-low latency and smooth, uninterrupted audio routing and seamless integration to the apps.
macOS 26 or later is required. The driver is code-signed and notarized by Apple.
Click the download button below to get the installer package. Once downloaded, double-click the file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Note: A restart may be required after installation for the driver to appear in your system.
If the Radio app you are using requires a newer driver version, you will get prompted to update the driver. To update to a newer version, simply download and run the latest installer using the button above. It will automatically replace the previously installed version — no manual removal needed.
To remove the driver, download the uninstaller command using the link below. Unzip the downloaded file by double-clicking it, then double-click the Uninstall CommonRadioAudio.command file inside.
Note: macOS may block the file from running and display a security warning. To allow it, open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to the security section, and click Allow Anyway next to the blocked file. Then double-click the .command file again to proceed with the uninstallation.
Note: A restart may be required after uninstallation
